Living with both a mental health condition and substance use disorder—known as dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorders—can feel overwhelming. One challenge often feeds the other, making recovery difficult without the right kind of care. At Anchor Behavioral Health, we specialize in helping individuals address both issues together, not separately.
Mental health and addiction are deeply connected. Depression, anxiety, trauma, or bipolar disorder can increase the risk of substance use. In turn, drugs or alcohol can intensify mental health symptoms. If only one part of the problem is treated, the other often resurfaces. True recovery requires an integrated approach that addresses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
At Anchor, our licensed clinicians and recovery specialists create personalized treatment plans that bring mental health and substance use recovery together. Our dual diagnosis program may include:
Identifying underlying conditions and their impact.
Evidence-based methods such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care.
When appropriate, psychiatric support is available to stabilize symptoms.
Mindfulness, fitness, and spiritual growth opportunities.
Long-term strategies for maintaining balance and wellness.
Recovery is possible—even when it feels like you’re battling on multiple fronts. At times, living with both mental health challenges and substance use can feel like a cycle that never ends, but you are not alone in this. Our team is committed to walking alongside you every step of the way, addressing both conditions at the same time so you can finally begin to experience true relief and lasting progress.
At Anchor Behavioral Health, we believe that healing happens when the whole person is cared for—mind, body, and spirit. By treating the root causes as well as the symptoms, we help you rebuild confidence, strengthen resilience, and create healthier ways of coping. With compassion, evidence-based care, and a community that understands what you’re going through, you’ll find a safe place to begin again.
No matter how long you’ve struggled or how many times you’ve tried before, recovery is always possible. Every person’s journey looks different, and our role is to provide the guidance, tools, and unwavering support you need to build a foundation for lasting change.

I have been seeing Kris for over a year. She has been amazing in helping navigating what I felt was very complex family dynamics. She has been great giving no nonsense, solid advice. She has been an awesome support in listening to and getting to the heart of the matter.
Anchor is THE program that has finally “stuck”. I owe my long-sought sobriety, and ultimately my LIFE to the amazing folks at Anchor. The owners are without question the kindest most inspiring people, and they couple that unparalleled caring nature with a helpful and strategic approach to sobriety. They set up every person who walks in the door with EVERYTHING they need to achieve a thorough and meaningful new way of life, and teach comprehensive lessons and strategies for sobriety that make sense. Of all the many times I have sought sobriety it is through these wonderful people and their program that I’ve FINALLY gotten it! I am so grateful and blessed to have found this invaluable support.
